We submitted our Graphic Designer, Johanna Jannenga, to a quick interrogation so we can get to know her a little better. Here’s what she said!
Who are you?
I’m Johanna Jannenga. I'm a Graphic Designer and I've been at Titan since September 2024. At home I've got my partner Luke, kids Athena and Phoenix, a dog called Kylo and a cat called Kayco. My name is of Dutch heritage (my father is Dutch) but I grew up on a stone fruit farm in Southern Queensland and have lived here all my life.
What do you do?
I design the marketing and communication material for Titan. In the six months I've been here that's included a lot of work on the new website and brand identity, and all the various other communication pieces such as eDMs, brochures, events, and anything you can think of really.
What do you love most about your profession?
I really believe in the value of good design to the success of a business. It has a huge role to play in communicating important messages and making information digestible and impactful. Great design informs as well as inspires and I love the challenge of meeting that expectation every day!
What do you most like about working for Titan?
Firstly it's the fact that I have great people around me. I worked remotely for a number of years before joining Titan so I'm really enjoying the social aspect of working in a supportive team again.
From a work point of view, I've really enjoyed having a big opportunity from day one. Being involved in the brand refresh has been really challenging and exciting and I like being kept on my toes with the need to use my brain every day and come up with fresh ideas to make our new look really land with people.
What’s the best piece of advice you have for anyone in your profession?
Don't be afraid of criticism. Not everyone will like what you do and that's OK. With design, everything you produce is visible to people so you are open to all manner of opinions - embrace it and use it to keep on improving.
What is your superpower?
Erm. I'm a bit of a pot plant whisperer if that can be called a superpower! I have over 100 plants around the house and I haven't killed one yet.
What are we likely to find you doing outside work?
Gardening obviously (given the previous answer) but I also like hanging out with the family - especially poolside with a beer! I enjoy cooking as well and just so I don't come across as a complete old lady, I love listening to punk music.
Tell us a book we should read, a film we should watch, and a podcast we should listen to.
Book – “Way of the peaceful warrior" by Dan Millman. Gives an incredible perspective on life and makes you want to be a better human.
Film – “Coherence". Hurts your brain but a great film.
Podcast – "The way forward" with Alec Zeck. Discusses modern day current affairs from an alternative viewpoint. Fascinating listening.

Can you share a recent success story that really made your day.
Well, launching the new website was a huge success, not just because it looks awesome (I would say that though!) it also sets the foundation for all the design work on the new brand identity. It was also a great project to help me get up to speed quickly with all the products and services Titan offers.
