BDM for New South Wales and ACT, Amanda Dexter, answers our questions so we can get to know her a little better.

Meet Amanda Dexter

We put Business Development Manager for New South Wales, Amanda Dexter, through our rigorous questioning so we can get to know her a little better. Here’s what she said!

Who are you?

I’m Amanda Dexter, Business Development Manager at Titan DMS.

Outside work, I’m a devoted mother to a 10-year-old son and a proud owner of a feline companion named Yuki.

I’ve worked in the automotive industry since 2002 when I began my career selling motorbikes in the UK. I emigrated to Australia in 2009 and love it here.

Since joining the auto industry I’ve worked in a range of positions, from retail to fleet and as a BDM for an OEM before moving to Titan.

I feel fortunate to have experienced most parts of the Automotive industry.

What do you do?

My role is to find solutions that improve dealer profits and efficiencies. It is a varied role and I thoroughly enjoy getting to meet with some of the best in the industry.

I love seeing how Titan can change the way dealers do business for the better by streamlining processes and increasing visibility.

What do you love most about your profession?

I find immense satisfaction in solving complex challenges and delivering tangible results. The opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and witness the transformative impact of our solutions is what drives me every day.

What do you most like about working for Titan?

The team and product. Titan DMS stands at the forefront of innovation in the automotive sector. The company’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement aligns seamlessly with my professional ethos.

Here, I am empowered to make a meaningful impact while being part of a dynamic, forward-thinking, and cohesive team.

What’s the best piece of advice you have for anyone in your profession?

Persistence and product knowledge are paramount in this industry.

Understanding the nuances of it while maintaining unwavering perseverance in pursuit of our goals are key ingredients for success. “Every no is one closer to a Yes”.

What is your superpower?

Logical reasoning, resilience, and intuition are my defining traits (let’s call them superpowers!).

What are we likely to find you doing outside work?

I love to spend time with my son at the BMX track or the beach or fishing. In my downtime, I like to research quantum physics.

Tell us a book we should read, a film we should watch, and a podcast we should listen to.

Book – Dive into thought-provoking reads such as “Punk Science” by Dr. Manjir Samanta-Laughton or explore the intersection of economics and quantum theory with “Quantum Economics” by Amit Goswami.

Film For cinematic inspiration, revisit “The Matrix” for its timeless exploration of technology and reality.

Podcast – Not really a podcast listener but I have just had “Sean Carroll’s, Mindscape” recommended to me so I’ll dig into that next chance I get.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a mechanic…. I was advised against it and sent to a beauty school instead. I finished my qualifications and opened my own salon but my love for all things automobiles was too great so decided if I couldn’t fix them, I would sell them.

Three words to describe a great team, please.

Collaboration, cohesion, and commitment.

Thanks Amanda!
