We submitted our Head of People & Culture, Nicole Bedingfeld, to a quick interrogation so we can get to know her a little better. Here’s what she said!
Who are you?
I’m Nicole Bedingfeld, Head of People & Culture at Titan DMS. I’m wife to one husband, mum to two kids, and dogsbody to four pets! I’ve been in human resources for 17 years, including a stint in the Australian Air Force. I’ve been in Queensland for the last ten years and with Titan since October 2023.
What do you do?
My role at Titan is to ensure we have, or bring in, the right people for the right roles and empower them to do great things. I’m responsible for a global workforce of over 130 people and I aim to make sure they are all thriving in their roles.
What do you love most about your profession?
I love the opportunity to help people see the connection between their purpose and the purpose of the business. If I can create that alignment then it’s great for both parties. I get huge satisfaction from finding that sweet spot with people.
What do you most like about working for Titan?
It’s a fast-paced and dynamic environment that suits my character. I really enjoy the global reach and opportunity to deal with different cultures and workplace environments and I like the ability of the senior team to see people as people, rather than just “staff”.
What’s the best piece of advice you have for anyone in your profession?
Never underestimate the power of listening and empathy.
What is your superpower?
I enjoy being able to connect with anyone on their level.
What are we likely to find you doing outside work?
I’m no stranger to relaxing by the pool with a good book and I’m a bit obsessed with interior design.
Tell us a book we should read, a film we should watch, and a podcast we should listen to.
Book – “Man’s Search For Meaning” by Viktor Frankel. Harrowing at times but an incredible insight into resilience, the human spirit, and our search for meaning in life.
Film – “Out of Africa”. A beautiful love story with stunning cinematography and wonderful music. What more do you want?
Podcast – I’ve been listening to “Worklife” by Adam Grant recently and really enjoy his practical tips on maximising fulfillment from your working life.
In three words, sum up what makes a great team.
Respectful, Collaborative, Fun
Tell us something surprising about yourself.
In 2014, as part of my role with the Air Force, I was responsible for the planning and coordination of visits to Australia by Barack Obama and the Prince & Princess of Wales. That was a busy year!
Thanks Nicole!
