Ben, our smiley and all-around helpful support desk colleague, is next up for our quickfire questions. Here’s what he said:
Who are you?
I’m Ben. I live in Brisbane with my wife Tahnee, a Pug, and a Dachshund. I’ve been with Titan for about 18 months now.
What do you do?
I’m part of the front-line team of Service Desk Consultants that support customers in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and Fiji. We’re here to help customers in all areas of the Titan products.
What do you love most about your profession?
I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people and I love solving problems. I’m like a dog with a bone when there’s something interesting to tackle and I have a need to get to the heart of an issue to discover how it can be made better in the future. If I can create a happy customer, and help them use the platform more efficiently in the future, then I see that as a good day’s work.
What do you most like about working for Titan?
The range of customers and the range of questions you get asked; no two phone calls are the same. I should also say the team shouldn’t I? They’re a good bunch.
What’s the best piece of advice you have for anyone in your profession?
Listen & take time to properly explain an answer. Understand how the customer actually uses the platform or module and then support them on that journey. Never assume the answer for one is the same as another and make sure you clearly explain or follow up with clear instructions, so they are better prepared for the future.
What is your superpower?
Not sure it’s a superpower, but I have a pretty good memory for jokes. I don’t think many of them are appropriate for here unfortunately!
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A pilot. I passed the aptitude test for the Air Force at 18 but ended up joining the Army instead.
What are we likely to find you doing outside work?
Video games. That’s my escape.
If we asked your colleagues to describe you, what would they say?
I reckon – “Ben is loud and happy”. I’ll wait to see if that’s actually what they say once they’ve read this!
Sum up a great team in three words.
Reliable, Accepting, Committed
Thanks for playing along Ben!
